About
My work is hand thrown in vulcan black stoneware, a rich, dark, grogged clay body. The heaviness of the material lends itself well to a rough finish on the outside of vessels, which I contrast with a soft sheen of colour in the glazed interiors.
I make tableware and some more sculptural vessels.
I studied ceramics at City and Islington College, learning throwing, hand-building and moulding. I'm a member of Turning Earth, a ceramics studio in Hackney that's a strong community of mutual support and skill sharing.
I'm a founder member of ceramicspace, a new London collective working with practitioners in design, architecture and the built environment to bring together outstanding contemporary ceramics and spaces. I've exhibited several times with ceramicspace members and guest makers.
